What keepers get wrong

  • An open sun basker: it needs strong UVB across a long basking zone, not a coil bulb in a corner.
  • The basking spot should warm its whole body, so adults usually need two halogens side by side.
  • A 40 gallon is a juvenile tank; an adult needs at least 4 x 2 x 2 ft.
